LCS Cellular Concrete
Lightweight Concrete Solutions LLC has successfully used LCS Cellular Concrete® for many roof decks. Lightweight insulating concrete offers significant advantages to rigid board systems. Our roof decks provide positive slope to drain, superior R-Values and are easily re-roofed. Cellular concrete roof decks have performed in the industry for over 50 years. Many architects, engineers and roof consultants have become aware of the superior performance of lightweight concrete roof decks over rigid board systems.
LCS Cellular Concrete® is non-combustible and does not require additional fireproofing. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) boards are adhered to the substrate by placing them on a 1/8” lightweight concrete slurry. The boards are them topped with 2” minimum of lightweight concrete. On a metal deck the flutes are filled creating an air barrier which results in excellent wind uplifts.
Roofing a LCS Cellular Concrete® roof deck may begin 2 to 3 days after it has been installed. The base sheet is attached with a lightweight concrete base sheet fastener approved by the roofing manufacturer. Modified bitumens are then torched or mopped to the base sheet. Single ply roof membranes may be fully adhered to the lightweight concrete roof deck after it has been treated with a curing compund at a rate of 600sqft per gallon.
